She woke up by the sound of heavy rain pouring outside. Dense splash of water, mist and a little chill was all she could see and feel. A sense of blessing was all she could experience and gratefulness was all she had to offer to the Almighty, astounded by the beauty of nature He has created. Isn’t there something miraculous about the rains, is what she thought while gazing outside her big French window. She took a deep breath to embrace the fresh muddy fragrance that could not go unnoticed, she put her hand outside the window to not to let go off the shower without being a miniscule part of it. She laid herself comfortably on her swing chair that hung right in front of the window. She couldn’t have asked for more. Just when she saw the clouds drifting away and just when she was about to start her day, feeling energetic enough to accomplish her ‘to-do’ list, she rejoiced with joy to have spotted a rainbow right outside her window. The lush green spread below, the greyish blue sheet above and a multicolored arch in between these two was a scene worth capturing. She ran as fast as she could to capture this magnificence not only in her eyes but camera as well. She danced like a teenager, screamed like a kid and felt the morning like a retired old age lady. She had all the reasons to be happy and thankful, she had all the reasons to spend an active day and she had all the reasons to be forgiving and forgetful. Yes, she was now ready to combat any battle; she was now ready to conquer everything!!!
What’s with the rains and this peace of mind? What’s with the rains and incomparable freshness that it brings? What’s with the rains and numerous memories that spring up? What’s with the rains and this smile that ornaments every face? What’s with the rains and that urge to have junk food? What’s with the rains and long drives? What’s with the rains and dance? What’s with the rains and this feeling of liberty? What’s with the rains and deep thoughts? What’s with the rains and singing? What’s with the rains and a cup of coffee? What’s with the rains and reading? What’s with the rains and laziness? What’s with the rains and romance? What’s with the rains and the delight it brings to our lives?
Whatever it is isn’t it magical? It feels as if the cloud breaks into a heave deluge of blessing, touching everyone’s life in some way or the other. If a child gets a reason to dance in the shower, the couples get a reason to celebrate their togetherness. If a farmer feels thankful for the automatic watering of his field, the citizens feel relieved to see the dams full that serve as a water supply for rest of the year. If the schools declare a rainy day off, the working professionals enjoy ‘chai’ and ‘samosa’ at the ‘tapris’ and canteen. It’s amazing to see the birds and animals enjoy this weather in their own ways.
Rains are soul touching. Rains are dreamlike. Rains are happiness and Rains are memorable.
Nothing can beat the cheerfulness of enjoying the rains…. I love the rains so very much! 🙂
